Development Authority
The Randolph County Development Authority was created in 1962 by the constitution of the State of Georgia for the purpose of encouraging and promoting the expansion of development of industrial and commercial facilities in Randolph County.
The authority's mission is to promote economic development through recruitment of industry and business, as well as to support existing businesses in Randolph County.
The Randolph County Development Authority shares the motto of the county and Chamber of Commerce: “rooted in history, with the future in mind” Members of the development authority are dedicated to our history of agriculture and forestry, while embracing the technological advances to actively pursue agricultural and forestry related industries.
The Randolph Development Authority meets each second Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Randolph County library.
The Randolph County Development Authority partners with the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, the Randolph County Board of Commissioners, the cities of Cuthbert and Shellman as well as the local Airport Authority. As a member of Locate South Georgia, SWGA 5 and the Southern Lower Chattahoochee Council of Governments Regional Development Authority, the RCDA collaborate regionally to bring industry, business and jobs to South Georgia.
